Dortmund's Kryptonite!

Who doesn't like some Friday night football action in the Bundesliga? We don't like it... we love it! Tonight we have an awesome fixture in the Bundesliga between Werder Bremen and Borussia Dortmund. This matchup is proving particularly tricky to tip because on one hand Bremen has history on their side with their impressive home record against Dortmund. However, BvB couldn't ask for a better time to butt heads with the injury battered Werder Bremen.

Bremen's myriad of injuries and suspensions heading into this match is very alarming. All things considered, the outcome of this match is too close to call. The best market, seemingly, is total goals and an anytime/last goalscorer prop. You could take over 2.5 goals confidently, however the market is weak there. We like over 3-3.5 goals wherever you can find your best value. As for a goalscorer prop, Claudio Pizarro, as jet-lagged as he may be for this match, is your best bet at anytime or at last goalscorer. Happy betting and enjoy the match!

  • Werder Bremen v Borussia Dortmund - OVER 3 goals
  • Claudio Pizarro - ANYTIME Goalscorer
  • Claudio Pizarro - LAST Goalscorer

A European Four-Pack!

Happy Friday everybody, what a great day to watch some international fixtures that actually mean something! We are looking forward to all the European qualifier matches as well as some of the other international fixtures today. This is our first set of picks for the month of October after wrapping up a monster winning month in September. Lets hope the luck keeps rolling, let it ride!

We have four picks that we are confident with today. We like Germany to win straight up because A.) Both these countries aren't the best of friends B.) Germany has nothing to lose AND C.) None of the international sides that Guus Hiddink has managed have ever beaten Germany. They've only managed to lose all five times while scoring just one goal in the process.

We like Sweden to win by more than a goal against Finland, even on the road, because that is just what they do against Finland. According to our records, Finland has never even beaten Sweden. Plus we like Zlatan and crew to powder their stats in today's game. Bring on the goals please!

We like Italy to win straight up simply because they want to keep their incredible qualifying run untainted. They are on incredible form, no one has been able to beat them, and we really like the idea of Cassano and Giovinco leading the front line. Azzurri for sure!

Croatia will want to put their qualifying to an end tonight by putting the Greeks away and making their next fixture essentially non-competitive. A win tonight for the Croats would put them four points ahead of Greece and locking up the group in the process. Greece didn't look too good against Latvia in their last outing with a stale 1-1 draw. We expect Greece to park the bus tonight, something they are known for. However another thing that is well-known is Slaven Bilic's desire to attack and win this game, as he has publicly stated leading up to the match. Lets hope those pesky Greeks finally break down.

Wednesday's Late UCL Games

Valencia v. Chelsea

This tie is too close to call. It will all depend on which Chelsea team shows up. If Torres has a good game, Chelsea will too. Either team can win this match but it will most likely be a cagey affair with either side squeaking out the win if not drawing. We don't see either side conceding more than once so our best bet is under 2.5 goals. If you must pick a side, take the better value with Valencia on a double chance bet.

Bayer Leverkusen v. Genk

There is no way around it, Leverkusen are on terrible form, losing their last three matches in all competitions and conceding nine goals in the process. That being said, they are still slightly heavy favorites to win, but with their leaky defense and a few injury woes, Genk have a puncher's chance to score first, keep it tight, or win altogether. We like Genk to keep it tight, take them +2.

Arsenal v. Olympiakos

Arsenal have seemed to turn their form around a bit, at least for now, having won 3-0 over the weekend against Bolton. Considering this, and the fact that Olympiakos is historically awful on English soil (9 straight losses, 29 goals conceded, 1 goal scored), we like Arsenal to cruise. Take the Gunners laying a goal at -1.

Marseille v. Borussia Dortmund

Try and cash in on Dortmund's rare opportunity to take 3 points on the road against a club in disarray with Marseille. Dortmund have a healthy squad with the added boost of Lucas Barrios' return. Find the best value you can get and take Dortmund straight up.

Shaktar Donetsk v. APOEL

Shaktar took the likes of Roma, Arsenal, and Braga to the cleaners in their home fixtures last year. Take Shaktar laying a goal at -1.

BATE Borisov v. Barcelona

It's not everyday that Barcelona win by a three goal margin on the road, and even less in Champions League. Today isn't one of the days they do either. Take BATE +2.5

AC Milan v. Viktoria Plzen

Milan's squad is fairly depleted because of injury. They will have to rely on the likes of Cassano and an unfit Ibrahimovic to lead the line. Seeing as they haven't rolled anyone at home in Champions League in forever, and Viktoria Plzen do a good job of staying organized, we like Viktoria Plzen +1.5 and under 2.5 goals.

  • Valencia v. Chelsea - UNDER 2.5 goals
  • Valencia - Double Chance Bet
  • Genk +2
  • Arsenal -1
  • Borussia Dortmund - MONEYLINE
  • Shaktar Donetsk -1
  • BATE Borisov +2.5
  • Viktoria Plzen +1.5
  • AC Milan v. Viktoria Plzen - UNDER 2.5 goals

The Early One - Zenit St. Petersburg v. FC Porto

Zenit St. Petersburg v. FC Porto

Zenit haven't lost at home in European competition in 2 years and 363 days. Since their loss to Real Madrid on Sept. 30th, 2008, the have gone on a 9-0-3 run. While Porto boast an impressive record in Russia as well, having won their last 4 trips there, they have never played Zenit St. Petersburg before.

Having proven over the past few years that they are one of the premier European sides outside of the major leagues, coupled with Porto's scarce amount of draws on the road in European competition, we feel that Zenit's home record is the streak to continue tonight, not Porto's.

Plenty of Tuesday Action to Get You Through the Week!

Serie A
Novara v Inter Milan

Simply put, if Inter lose to Novara today, then Gasperini should lose his job. Why? Maybe the fact that Inter are undefeated in their last 21 matches against newly-promoted sides has something to do with that statement.

That being said, don’t underestimate Inter’s ability to draw against a newly-promoted side on the road. Inter have won four and drawn five in their last nine matches on the road against promoted clubs.

As much as we love to bet on Inter, we hate to bet on Gasperini. We like Novara +1 and under 2.5 goals.

Ligue 1
Bordeaux v Lille

Another match that is hard to tip either way as far as outcome. Bordeaux are in a rough patch at the moment, and Lille could certainly take advantage of that. Bordeaux will also be missing their 1st team keeper Cedric Carrasso due to a red-card suspension. He will be replaced by the 21 year old back up Abdoulaye Keita, which raises a red flag for us.

We are banking on both of these porous defenses, coupled with a young starting goalkeeper, to mean goals. Our best bet is over 2.5 goals but also recommend taking Lille straight-up for the added value.

La Liga
Osasuna v Sevilla

The Nou Camp hangover is undoubtedly lingering for Osasuna, and with Sevilla receiving a healthy boost in their roster fitness coupled with their great league form so far, we like the value on taking Sevilla straight up. Take Sevilla moneyline or in a pick’em, and under 2.5 goals.
Real Sociedad v Granada
We'll keep it simple. Take Sociedad straight up and take over 2.5 goals.
Villarreal v Mallorca

Count on the Yellow Submarines to finally resurface tonight against Mallorca. They are unbeaten in their last seven meetings with Mallorca at their own ground, five of those being wins.

Also important to note: Villarreal have averaged 3-4 losses at home the past 3 seasons. Do we really expect Mallorca to be one of the 3-4 teams that beat Villarreal at home this year? Absolutely not. Take Villarreal moneyline with confidence and take under 2.5 goals.

  • Novara +1
  • Novara v Inter - UNDER 2.5 goals
  • Bordeaux v Lille - OVER 2.5 goals
  • Lille - MONEYLINE
  • Sevilla - MONEYLINE and/or Pick'em
  • Osasuna v Sevilla - UNDER 2.5 goals
  • Sociedad - MONEYLINE
  • Sociedad v Granada - OVER 2.5 goals
  • Villarreal - MONEYLINE
  • Villarreal v Mallorca - UNDER 2.5 goals

Friday Night Football - Bundesliga Style!

SC Freiburg v VfB Stuttgart

We have some Friday night football action for you in the Bundesliga tonight! SC Freiburg will host VfB Stuttgart in hopes of turning around their form after the 7-0 destruction dished out to them by none other than Bayern München a week ago.

We say that is too strong of a hangover for Freiburg to cure in just a week's time. Stuttgart is one of the better defensive sides in the Bundesliga this year thus far, allowing just 3 goals in 5 matches. Freiburg on the other hand have shown their ability to score at will this season, failing only to score once in their 5 matches played. They can pat themselves on the back for that all they want, because it has amounted to very little. They have only won one match this season while losing three and drawing one. Goals clearly don't equal success if you have no defense to back it up, which Freiburg don't. They have allowed 16 goals in 5 matches compared to Stuttgart's 3 allowed.

Verdict: Look for Stuttgart's stingy defense coupled with the generally good health of their squad at the moment to be the determining factors in this fixture. We like Stuttgart to win, moneyline. Book it and you won't head into the night a sauer kraut. Hopefully.

Wednesday's Champions League Picks!

We are back after a good day yesterday to hopefully bring you some more free hot winners!

There is a whole fresh crop of Champions League action tonight, and as a result we have 7 picks for you.

  • Manchester City v Napoli - OVER 2.5 goals
City's prolific scoring form as of late, coupled with Napoli's tremendous scoring record on the road in European competition makes this a "must" bet. If this bet loses, blame it on bad luck, or Catenaccio.
  • Manchester City -1.5
City are averaging 3.4 goals a game through their first 5 matches this season. If this scoring rate keeps up, don't expect Napoli to hang around.
  • Villarreal MONEYLINE
Villarreal have one of the most prolific home records of any team in European competition. They have won 9 consecutive matches at home heading into tonight's game against Bayern München. While Bayern will prove to be one of the tougher opponents they have faced recently, this only increases the value of this bet. Look for Napoli's streak to continue.
  • Villarreal v Bayern München - OVER 2.5 goals
Bayern are one of the hardest teams to earn a clean sheet against when hosting them in European competition. They have managed to score in their last 11 away matches in Champions League. With Villarreal to score and Bayern's scoring trend likely to continue, this is a strong bet.
  • Dinamo Zagreb +2
Zagreb may be going up against a European giant tonight when they face Real Madrid, but that doesn't change the fact that Zagreb haven't lost by more than a two goal margin at home since August 8th, 2006. You read that correctly, it hasn't happened in over 5 years. We like their chances to keep it close against Mourinho's boys.
  • Benfica v Manchester United - UNDER 2.5 goals
More often than not, Manchester United's away matches in Champions League have a tendency of staying under the total goals amount. The x-factor is how many goals United will score that usually determines whether the total will be over or under. If there is one team that can stifle Benfica's scoring at home, it is Manchester United. We like the under.
  • FC Basel -1
Champions League newcomers FC Otelul Galati may or may not have their hands full tonight when they travel to Basel. We like Basel to win by more than a goal simply because when FC Otelul Galati lose, they usually manage to do so without scoring.

We are back! Champions League Picks!

Okay, we are officially back, picking games for this year's season of football. We have three picks for the Champions League games today.

  • Borussia Dortmund v Arsenal - OVER 2.5 goals
Borussia Dortmund have only been held scoreless 3 times in their last 27 home games in all competitions. Arsenal also boast a great scoring record on the road in Champions League, scoring in 9 of their last 11 road games.
  • Chelsea Moneyline AND/OR -1
Chelsea have a great record against German opposition at Stamford Bridge. Only 1 of the last 4 German sides to visit have been able to score. Bayer Leverkusen also have a horrendous away record in European competition. Look for that to continue tonight as they face a strong Chelsea team at their own ground.
  • AC Milan +2
Milan have only gone goalless in 18 of their last 53 away fixtures in Champions League. Never count them out for at least a goal and keep in mind that Barcelona have conceded a goal in their last 3 fixtures at home in Champions League. Barcelona to win, but Milan to give them fits and keep it close.

This officially starts our tally for September!
